The part-time Executive MBA is designed for business professionals ready to fast-track their careers—whether advancing along their current path or transitioning to new roles or industries. With a blended learning approach combining online and in-person sessions, the programme minimizes time away from work while maximizing learning outcomes.
Our Executive MBA equips you with essential leadership skills through the tailored Executive Leadership Journey and core modules covering key business fundamentals, positioning you for senior management roles. In the second year, you’ll enhance this foundation with specialized expertise by choosing from a broad selection of elective modules.
The programme also includes immersive international residencies in the USA and China, offering firsthand insights into the global business landscape. With its focus on leadership, technology, and global networking, the Executive MBA serves as your pathway to success at the highest level.
Studies
Year 1: Core Modules and Leadership Development
The first year focuses on building a solid foundation in essential business disciplines. Participants attend on-campus sessions every three to four weeks, typically on Fridays and Saturdays, allowing them to balance work and study effectively. Core modules cover topics such as Marketing Management, Accounting and Corporate Reporting Analysis, Economics for Business, Corporate Finance, Strategy, and Organisational Behaviour. Complementing these modules is the Executive Leadership Journey, a year-long component designed to enhance self-awareness and leadership capabilities, supported by personal career coaching.
Year 2: Electives and Global Exposure
In the second year, participants tailor their learning by selecting five elective modules from a diverse range of options, allowing for specialization aligned with individual career goals. Electives span areas such as Analytics and Operations, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Finance, Leadership and Organisation, Marketing, and Strategy. The program also includes international residencies, providing immersive experiences in key global markets. Previous cohorts have engaged with leading companies and prestigious business schools in locations like Berlin and China, gaining firsthand insights into different business environments.
Blended Learning Approach
The Executive MBA employs a blended learning format, combining online pre-study modules with on-campus instruction. This approach minimizes time away from the workplace while ensuring a comprehensive and interactive educational experience. Online components are delivered through "The Hub," Imperial College Business School’s bespoke virtual learning environment, covering primers in key areas including data analysis, finance, accounting, mathematics, corporate sustainability, social innovation, and ethics.
